Set between the Serchio and Arno valleys, Monte Pisano offers a heterogeneous landscape, with vineyards and terracing of olive trees at low altitude. As you go up, you will find pine, chestnut, beech, and oak woods. The Monti Pisani Oil Road develops around the mountain.
A network of routes to explore on foot or by bicycle allows you to discover incredible natural environments, historical and artistic evidences in the small medieval villages, well preserved thanks to the love of local population and environmental guides, who will lead you in the discovery of places, flowers and curiosity about the mountain.
At the beginning of the route, the visit to the Ancient Ships Museum inside the Medici Arsenals, proceeding towards the mountain following the Medici aqueduct towards Asciano Pisano. Then you arrive in Calci and its Pieve di Sant’Ermolao, towards the Certosa di Pisa, proceeding in the direction of Uliveto Terme, San Giovanni Alla Vena, Vicopisano with its splendid Pieve of Santa Maria, where the route ends.
